Brakes are the one system on your car you never want to gamble on. We inspect, measure and repair brakes on all makes and models, and we only recommend the work your car actually needs.
How we handle it
Every brake job here starts with the wheels off and a real measurement: pad thickness, rotor runout and thickness, hose and caliper condition, and a look at the fluid itself. Old brake fluid absorbs water, and water boils. A soft, sinking pedal on the way down the Cuesta Grade is usually a fluid problem.
We fit quality friction and hardware from suppliers we trust, including Brembo, ACDelco, Monroe and Moog, and we machine or replace rotors rather than slapping new pads onto a worn surface. If the pedal problem turns out to be ABS or a wheel speed sensor, we have the scan tools and the ALLDATA and Mitchell1 service data to chase it down properly.
Common questions
How long does a brake job take?
Most pad-and-rotor jobs are done the same day. We’ll give you a realistic time when we’ve looked at the car, and we offer a local shuttle if you need a ride to work while we work.
Do I need to replace rotors every time?
Not always. If the rotors are above minimum thickness and running true, they can often be resurfaced. We measure and show you the numbers rather than guessing.
Why are my brakes squealing when they’re not worn out?
Squeal is usually caused by vibration rather than wear: glazed pads, missing shims, or hardware that wasn’t lubricated on the last service. It’s worth an inspection either way.
